Darren Woods, Chairman and CEO, Exxon Mobil, public person, can be mentioned and his work can be criticized by anyone, including his own employees. Just sayin’

Borrowing to pay is a whole new level! Give that man a recognition award!
Looks like EM is consistent with how they treat their employees when they ran out of cash.. always remember who caused us to be in the present state.. D.W. deserves all the credit this time.

Cheer up folks. The company won't change, but as responsible and smart individuals we can change and adapt. Have more believe in ourselves, we are not a corporation, WE ARE NOT EM, but we are ethical human beings. The world is bigger and better than EM, light will shine on us, then exit EM gracefully and live life ethically.
There have never been layoffs at IOL. A little dead skin is shed each year, it is normal, and largely related to irregularities or poor peformance. Our competitors have laid off thousands. Go check out Suncor, Husky, Encana, TransCanada etc.
I am not a bullish cheerleader for Exxon or IOL, but let's be honest and acknowledge facts.
I agree though that malicious bootlickers, sycophants and gender diversity beneficiaries have been promoted to middle management in excess of their capabilities. These should be culled immediately.
I do feel the pain and sense of betrayal experienced by my Singaporean colleagues who are the most dedicated, loyal and hardworking employees of ExxonMobil. You will prevail.
Our management are losers taking advantage of all the possible government subsidies across the world during this pandemic and just generally doing unethical things. The so call leadership in “ human rights”, “integrity”, “ethics”... it’s all a scam. It is horrible regardless whatever excuses and reasons they gave.
IOL is not laying people off fast enough and certainly not laying off the right ones (the useless paraplegic mid level management CL 26-29)
@Wenlan - There have been layoffs at IOL for the past weeks. Please see the IOL board. I have colleagues there who were escorted out by HR
@1cll+17rcKHYl. This further reinforced that the Singapore management team and all the bootlickers are worst than animals. Took our government money and yet disguised layoff as PIPs.
The Canadian government responded with a massive stimulus package to preempt layoffs due to the pandemic. Under the Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy (CEWS) millions of dollars have been received by Canadian subsidiaries such as IOL to keep workers on the job. The program was recently extended to mid-2021. That is why there have been no layoffs in Canada - yet - and unlikely to be till next year. In fact, recruitment may resume shortly.
We love our Singaporean colleagues and thank you for your hard what in standing up for what is right! It literally feels like stealing and a human right violation to be taking money from the government of a foreign nation and promising no layoffs yet having a PIP layoff of 10% of the workforce. The money Exxon took could be allocated by the government to much better causes. It really is terrible regardless how you look at it. Exxon should be ashamed. If the company and management have moral value, they will return all the money taking from our government. Basically the management is a bunch of unethical sht asholes without credibility.
We are angry because the Singapore Government gave out millions in subsidies across all sectors to help stop retrenchments (layoffs). Almost 100 billion has been marked for the pandemic response. We have a large surplus of over 300 billion and have a balanced budget, by law we cannot borrow to pay a deficit.
During normal times if a PIP was used that is fine but EM took money from the government increased the PIP to 8% and that is deceitful. It’s a retrenchment and they don’t want to call it that and now their is a rumor of another 20-30 layoff as well.
This is why we are mad. For the unethical practices being done.

Good for SG, hopefully in my next life, I'd be Singaporean. Here in US, I was PIPd and nobody cared, as in NONE.
Theirs is a culture still based on honor, pride and reputation: Attacking their competency is attacking the core of their work existence. In U.S., tbe vast majority of people would shrug it off , engage "positive energy",, think their happy thoughts that they are the best and the brightest, and move on.
Not saying one is better than the other, but there is a big difference.
They aren't going anywhere though. Just false hope like those trying to sue in houston.
Because they probably feel like they have more power by standing together and the company took money from their government for the pandemic relief program yet laid off people through the PIP unethically... just my assumption. It’s been great seeing people standing together and asking for honesty and integrity... it might be pointless long term but there’s always that risk.
Totally out of control, no wonder the LCM ran for the hills too.
