Just came back from a 2 week vacay only to get a 1:1 zoom with manager and hr to tell me I've been laid off. EH salaried engineering. After 20+yrs in this company and an almost paid off house I think I'm gonna sell and move closer to family and apply to remote jobs. I will never conside4 coming back to PW after this and hope the newer generation of engineers stay smart and sharp so they are not vulnerable when these things happen.

I don't blame you. I refused to live in Connecticut (although most of P&W's locations were awful) and now I'm in Texas looking for a new place.
I agree with you. I'm done with P&W too (and frankly, Raytheon Technologies in general).
I applied for over 14 internal positions across all business units and I was turned down for all of them instead of having a process in place to help myself and others transfer to more stable jobs.
It goes to show how little they value their so-called talent and the knowledge they're losing.
It’s nothing new, I went through all this back in 1998, I packed up and left Connecticut and that dump of East Hartford for Texas and never looked backed.
I won't consider coming back either. Very disrespectful to keep us in the dark and layoff without proper explanation/ allowing for questions.
Hey, at least they didn't call you on vacation. I've heard of that happening.
