Slido Questions for Darren Woods

I noticed many are fearful to post their questions on Slido. We might as well do it here, for those leaving EM to post our questions for us.

Personally I was shock when Ian took out pretty PowerPoint slides 5 years ago and said it was relevant today.. goes to show that either his role was redundant or just too stubborn to change..

Good luck all!

I posted many questions on 15 Oct, but even on 21st Oct, none of them were reviewed yet, it is just a false platform for them to trick employees into thinking that they are promoting “Open communication”.

Great questions fellow colleagues and ex-colleagues. I’m sure Darren will be so proud of us.

How do you rank your performance in the past year? Excellent/very good/good/needs improvement/needs significant improvement?

In an EMHC forum a few years ago you mentioned you were underpaid compared to your peers. During your tenure, since 2015 the stock has dropped 62%. Do you still think you are underpaid?

My question would be why won't you let EMIT live stream the event? This is not an EMIT question...they could get it done...this sounds like a management decision.

@sdk+17r9ahEF - I hear that’s how they manage messaging in North Korea as well.
Maybe our supreme leader took tips from their supreme leader.

@aqk thanks for the laugh
Seriously can’t make this stuff up, and then we are told and used to be told we are a technology company....If we can’t even Figure out how to have the US employees listening in on a townhall, how do we expect to be competitive...the whole company needs an improvement plan.

So, he’s hosting an employee forum, which is great. Late to the game but whatever. At least we’ll know he’s alive.

But, I’m not invited. And it won’t be streamed because our IT geniuses can’t handle, like, too many people watching all at once. So they will send me a link to watch it hours later...when they edit it..and the network isn’t too busy. My teenager can stream his World of Warcraft raid to thousands of people..for free. Our CEO can’t give a talk over our zillion dollar IT system.

This stuff is why we’re losing billions.

Since maintaining the dividend is such a priority, Why are executives not buying XOM shares at these levels?

He’s keeping true to company culture. No consequences to bad decision making. Shuffle the deck after 2-3 years. Keep yourself at the top and take care of yourself.

Needs some wordsmithing, but this is close to a question that would be nice to get some feedback.

Several managers have used the term "regretted losses" in recent meetings when describing some employees that chose PIL instead of accepting a PIP. What is meant by regretted or why would management use the word regretted for someone that was flagged as NSI?

Super hot? Nah. But the negativity is from the vast minority. Trolls and other people you would never want to associate with in real life. It’s not just XOM that keeps them angry, but literally everything else.

"...the forum will have a limited in-person audience."

No mention of where, but I assume Dallas, and the audience are probably other c suite execs.

Turns out 99.9% of employees are super hot for Exxon. There’s only about 25 negative people in the company that just post over and over again here.

There is no anonymous option in the slido. Probably smart, because otherwise people will be jack-sses.

My guess is that they aren’t allowing others to see the slido questions that were posted (no upvoting). Again, trying to manage messaging and negativity. Believe it or not, not everyone in the company is negative, so they hope to keep others from spreading negativity. That’s smart.
