Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

CEO Contrast in Style

Southwest Airlines CEO just announced he will not do layoffs. He also announced he will not take a salary through 2021 and that his executives will take a cut. This is leadership. You succeed because of the people that work for you. It is a privilege to lead. Not a right. To hold a group together and motivate your team requires this kind of leadership. Recognizing and living this will lead to ethical and moral business leadership.

And then there is Tom Wilson and Glenn Shapiro

That’s the spirit of a true American. The spirit of the West. What a legend.

Southwest received government funding under the CARES Act, which required them to not do furloughs through at least Sep 30. Southwest is banking on this funding being renewed. Southwest is also asking its pilots and flight attendants to take a 10% pay cut and encouraging employees to take voluntary unpaid leave.

well when you run a s—y airline you have to do what you have to do, I know many pilots who flew at SWA who left, there is what you see and what happens, remember you never really know what happens in your neighbors house.

Well said "sacrificial lamb" from some of the prior posts Allstate will gut employees only as an avenue for overseas hires. No loyalty, no compassion, worshipping the almighty $$. Corporate greed and dishonesty on the backs of working folks. Sad turn of events, I feel for all of you that are going thru this. At some point the claim count will be out of control, no one to handle the volume and chaos ensues, the corporate leadership will fumble into a knee jerk reaction and try and rehire with the stipulation of severance reimbursement. What a strategy to see unfold. Glad I left 2 months ago.
