Thread regarding Resideo Technologies layoffs

More P&S changes

So after 8 months, the P&S leader was fired.

More changes are coming, IMO. Guessing Software and Engineering is next.

@4yiy...

He's been in the position less than 6 months. What do you expect? You must be the same person who said he was being exited a few weeks back. #fakenewstroll

CTO can’t make decisions or replace the BS masters. He is going to get booted off ...don’t trust the guy,
Can anyone post if the guy has done anything besides asking questions after questions and spinning?

@4nnt,
We can’t fire them because they are all part of the brotherhood of people with stock and promo from the time of the first CTO
Same issue than in the software group.
Sad the current CTO can’t even get HR, IT and finance to heel....

It really is simple. Replace any managers/directors/VPs that came from HW and bring back the Gateway.

Don’t we have a new endeavor where we will sell to that Corp in Seattle? In pure rezi fashion that must be going on badly... with incompetent management (raking in cash and sleeping) . Disaster in waiting? feels to many like that cellular carrier adventure again.....

Comfort: GV Marketing has clearly some “issues” and grossly overpaid for what they do... but let’s not forget GV PMO... besides little reports harassing people on great software projects but yet participating willingly into the fake deliveries
Need to clean up all those sr directors and directors if we ever want to be better ...

@1lnq, @1jwt,
Sales may over promise... and that’s common unless being done systematically. The pointing to marketing is spot on. For the past 2 years almost 3, all we got in comfort is asr director that basically produce paper and ppt and not much else. Managed to keep staying around and not be accountable at all. Promoted many under him to buy them off. Change must happen there. Off course engineering must change but no use fixing hardware engineering if we don’t do a Major clean up in marketing especially GV... it’s a nest of incompetence and do nothing but blame others. Where is storm? In the trash? Anything else worth anything ? Nope do they smile and sing numbats while getting a paycheck and counting their stock? Yes. Get rid of that nest in GV and start at the top. Previous VP could not and she ran away. Current is incompetent and promised he won’t fire anyone from top marketing... that says it all!

@1lnq - I don't disagree with you about marketing at all and I'm not saying that the front line salespeople are responsible. If our sales leaders are letting the salespeople compete with iphone 6 against the competition with iphone 12, then they have failed. Unless they are not involved in the strategic planning (which I highly doubt), they can't just point their finger at other departments and blame them. I remember back in the days when sales seemed to drive our business, but these days we either have weak sales leaders or our business leaders are weak and don't provide all key functions a seat at the table. Either way, the formula that is being used is not working and needs to be fixed quickly!

@1ozi

Complete non sense. How can sales be hold accountable for customers buying cheaper and better products from competition??

We are trying to sell customers iPhone 6 more expensive than the current iPhone 12.

Strategic marketing and Product marketing just never delivered those last couple of years, and this is an understatement

@aqh - I don't think anyone is blaming sales as a group, but I do think it is reasonable to hold sales leadership accountable. They are the voice of the sales team at the table when it comes to the overall business strategy & execution and although they may not be responsible for the failures, they own part of the responsibility for not delivering anything for the sales team and the customers. That's why they get paid the big money :)

Problem is the way things are managed clearly. Unbelievable how some people get to stick around doing their own thing.
Alice in wonderland, shady...and then that fellow in Melville that sells himself as the best fellow HON and REZI ever had while raking in the stock and cash while playing the Christ savior on a beach....

@1gkg,
Again if those president was good, and they keep trying something and the VPs and director don’t deliver of spew BS... maybe the change must occur at the level below.
One thing stays the same : not much gets delivered or truly new products gets out in any normal timeframe. Despite changes in CTO, CEO still nothing. So the problem must be below.... you have one VP showing off their new boats while the Corp sinks, another constantly spouting T-rump quote, police and armed force like it’s the Soviet Union...
Directors in software and hardware who backstabbb everyone, drench supervisor that got promoted way beyond his capabilities running to marketing to sink them too...
WHAT did you expect?

At this point, how can anyone have confidence in our leadership team when they are constantly getting fired?!?!? It wasn't the president's fault that Grip took 3 years to release. He wasn't even here 12 months! But somehow the gm of the biz who oversaw the entire program gets to keep her job? she must be next... and then sales will get hit, and then pieces will start to get sold off. If you don't have something in the works right now you are a fool. For all of you lifers from HW and GS in pmo, I'm sorry but you will be forced to reinvent yourselves now.

Fire all those directors in software and hardware. Let them go back to work on the sales floor of circuit city or beat buy

Don't you dare blame sales. Do you know how long we have had to say "ProSeries is coming!" with a straight face? It's hard to sell to customers that you constantly let down.

Try letting the VP of Sales go. He is stuck in the 20th century. If REZI is to survive, it has to show the character of current underdog, embrace this, face the competition, conduct business to scale, and let go of arrogance.

To call this company (and specifically P&S) a dumpster fire would be an understatement at this point. Not defending the P&S leader, but someone went to the trouble of bringing in this former exec from Honeywell that performed when he was there and then tied his hands. If they are going to make changes to impact the business they need to look at the director level across the board in engineering, marketing and sales. They keep making changes at senior levels and it's not making a difference. It's time to cut the fat or start selling the business in pieces.

The guy had 1 year+ and let those directors (who should have never been promoted to that level) run wild. Result is zero. Nothing. All the while they laughed, drunk, snorted, and boasted about doing list of people....

Because of the middle layer that has always been there since the spin ... we can’t produce anything.
Fire all the directors NOW

I never comment here. But shame on dodger bradin. To have hired a nutcase ceo and offering him a damn private jet and allowing him to bring his cronies.

The leader who was let go was sane, rational and had a direction.

Now we will cut costs and sell the company in pieces
