Someone said below that DW will be gone soon. I hope so, but the old timers will tell you that EM NEVER admits to a mistake. That's why so many assets generate cash but no earnings. They are clearly impaired but EM won't take a write-down because that would publicly acknowledge a mistake in overinvesting or overpaying for an asset. EM doesn't make mistakes, right?

Likewise, getting rid of DW would be an admission that EM's management succession program failed, and that the BOD made a bad decision. It was not an uninformed decision to elevate DW. EM senior management and the BOD have watched him for years, and he was carefully groomed and chosen. Admitting failure would be an indictment of the most powerful people and processes in EM.

DW is way too young to retire, so it's not clear to me how to get rid of him in a way that allows EM to save face. Maybe he can follow RT and accept a public/gov't position to serve the country or some other fake but seemingly noble cause, but he will want a LOT of money to go quietly. But, we need someone else at the helm before the ship completely sinks.

Problem is that everyone in line has the same inherent weaknesses that made DW a disaster. That same EM arrogance and greed, supporters of failed processes and culture, part of the elite club, etc. And it so unlike EM to even CONSIDER someone from the outside. After all, we are superior to all, so who else could fill our shoes? Please, please, please don't bring in a bunch of consultants to "fix the problems" and leave same management in place. Folks, we may just be d.omed.

Darren has been working 24x7 on saving the company. No time for emails and handholding.
