Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

I have a dream

EM will need a massive change if there is real desire to survive.
Massive changes typically happen as result of a revolution. A soft one of course.

Vision of elements of such soft revolution in unsorted order:

  1. Everybody of us should do the origin job duties of the actual position as best as we can. But nobody should accept additional work, projects beyond an already 100% job on top. Running the famous extra mile will never pay out in a performance assessment system like EM’s. Holding out the carrot is not working any longer for the majority of employees.
  2. Concentrate only on the own work items. Do not try any longer to support migrated tasks even if you observe mistakes. We all did this too often in previous times to avoid issues in our operations (Our intention to do so has been the right one (protect the company) but the return of the investment is poor. So let us stop doing it). It is the key feed of senior people to believe that migration can continue and continue without limits as everything is going well.
  3. No “normal” employee will join the Forum’s with EM Top Management any longer from now on. The clapping class can celebrate itself. Management should feel the ditch is growing.
  4. In case of being in the lower performance categories: let us go weekly to our Managers and demand the promised help to improve and develop. If the direct Manager is not able to deliver, ask the next level. Ask HR to assist as this process is an HR gift to the organization. Maybe this process fold up like a house of cards overtime.
  5. HR? Let us agree to call HR from now on only “R”. Not much Human spirit has survived to justify the additional letter

Maybe there is more outside to add.

Do we all have the courage to do so? I fear not, as we are isolated and everybody tries to survive by his/him own. But I will continue to have this dream!

Made a D&I poster to be shared on Yammer! Lol! Love to see how everyone cheered at it.. but it is a way to show that I displayed winning behaviour..

@qee+17lKt6k3 Trick here is to “pretend” and do it well. I kept citing winning behaviours and D&I.. and spent hours on such shadings.. they won’t know a thing.. content wise can be copied from paste works.. easy! And everyone cheers as though I just discovered fire!

@pdz+17lKt6k3, right? You'll be labeled as not being a team player. Speaking of, I've always wondered how so many admins get away with not doing something when they don't want to. They just tell their boss they're not doing it, and they don't do it. No consequences (maybe until now?). After seeing so many others do this, I tried it, and it did not even come close to working. And it's really not my style anyway.
