Anybody have the inside scoop of how much the layoffs are going to affect the wage workers (operations/field/refinery folks) or is the MPT employees mostly under fire?

Well, email came out today. Says wage was not effected at all. Sorta funny to see some of these posts that were so confident be so wrong...
In the UK it's MPT only. Even excludes non college grads (eg ex operations) now doing MPT jobs. This is to avoid union involvement.

@1mpi+17k4tjyP - I very much doubt that the company is going to spend money on giving people an incentive to retire early. I think they will just continue on the course they have set: they will target a percentage of retirement eligible employees and NSI them. Then you have a choice between a 3-month PIL or an impossible-to-pass PIP. (That's what they did to me).
Another tactic they may use is to give advance notice on a change to the pension plan payout (e.g. eliminate the lump sum option) and changes to the health insurance charges/coverage for retirees. That would be another way to make a whole bunch of them leave earlier than they wanted. When the company can just wave a big stick, why bother with the carrots ?
Any thoughts on the early retirement buyout for those wage folks close to retirement (2 or 3 years remaining)?
Less people in the office needs less oca, so I can only assume so.
Is OCA the same thing as 'wage' or is that something different. OCA usually makes less money but they still work in the office type jobs.
Majority will be HIGH COST employees...plain and simple. However, they are going to use lack of analytical skills as the reason to let folks go. It’s their way of covering their backside.
There will be wage impact (there already has), but MPT including Coordinators and FLS will be higher proportion of site layoffs. On top of that a bunch of HQ and high cost office people around the world will be the main targets.
Refining director stated yesterday vast majority of cuts will be MPT in Europe and expects the same in USA. I would expect very little for process ops in terms of headcount reductions.
@aah+17k4tjyP not true, I've seen the % and it's both with 3x more weight on mpt,but still quite a bit of wage too. Trust me ops managers are pressured to have cuts too since their job is on the line
Thats good to hear. I have 3 employees (2 are past retirement and one is 4 years away) in my wage group. It would s— to not replace them when the time comes, but its the way it goes.
Only MPT. No layoff plan for operators as we have many in retirement bracket
