Just go to the emergency room , get care, then tell em you can’t pay.

ObamaCare is not affordable for people who work and are not subsidized. Even those who are subsidized the deductibles are too high so most doctor visits are paid out of pocket.

Friendly reminder to vote for the Public Option this coming election.

If Corporations can give us the boot for “shareholder value” then we shouldn’t have to rely on them for healthcare.

How much varies by what insurance plan you were enrolled in and if you want dental and vision too. Rounding off, my Cobra paperwork says that as of Nov 1st.

Medical $537/month (individual).
Dental $55/month
Vision $9/month

I did look at the ObamaCare website and didn't see any Harris County health plan cheaper for me.

For families in Houston, it is about $19,000 premium per year.

Go to your annual benefits statement. The cost of cobra will be the cost of medical and dental insurance that you and EM pay today. It’s listed in the statement. For me, it’s about $8,900/year

Soon after I left BTEC, I received a letter from WageWorks, Inc (careful, it looks like junk mail) and it explains my Cobra benefits. Basically, I can keep my current insurance for eighteen months by paying 100% of the premium plus a small processing fee.
