Someone just posted they declined a job offer as a graduate. Are we really still bringing in new hires?

Yep. One in my group. Seems like a decent and smart kid. Can already hear the disappointment in his voice about the company. He’ll find a much better one out there. Meanwhile us NREs are scrambling to the aft of the sinking ship trying to eck out a year or two to get to 55.
People coming in now were likely hired from fall recruiting last year. Company is just using the additional low cost headcount to replace people with higher salaries.

Seems cruel to not rescind offer knowing we will fire most of them first chance we get. I’m keeping experienced team as long as I can.
Incentivized to cut no. Given a number they have to achieve yes. And know if they don’t they will be fired and someone else will do it.
Once we make an offer, we won’t rescind it. The offers were likely made 1Q2020 or earlier.
Are supervisors incentivized to cut in their performance evaluation?
I got laid of last month and they had a new hire starting just 1 day after I started.
I am NSI, part of my PIP is to coach the new hires. I was basically told to lie to them and tell them this is a good place to work.
Are we really going to brag about experience in an industry that has been run into the ground over the last 20 years?
