Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

When changing jobs, what you should do to keep your cell number?

I’m changing jobs and wondering about what to do to keep the same cell number I have. I know phone is paid by employees but plan is still under Oracle.

I went into EBiz and went to the telecom section and there was a workflow to transition the number to myself. The same system you go through to onboard a number. Hope this helps.

There are actually web pages explaining the process for each carrier, maintained by the wireless group. Can’t give you a link because I am ex Oracle. If only there was a good intranet search engine ;)

I just went to my wireless carrier to change who was authorized to pay for it; not a big deal, actually. I did stay with the same carrier, so perhaps that is why it was so easy to do.

I stayed with AT&T, didn't notify anybody at Oracle. I was the one who paid for the phone and the service, not them. Had no issues porting the number to a new carrier. I think you're overthinking this.

I kept mine without contacting the internal telecommunications team. Not much of an issue if you stay with the same carrier. It would require contacting the Oracle folks if your changing carriers. I changed mine and then a few months later changed carriers. Sorry I don’t have the specific details, but I got them from the internal wireless comm site.

I can’t ask internally otherwise they will know that I’m leaving.

Why wouldn’t you just ask internally at Oracle rather post on this this forum?

Oracle wireless group allows that. just contact the wireless-us email and they send you the instructions.
