Just wait. They think it is bad now. Have they considered the consequences of their botched approach? Saying we will get through this and then firing half of us isn’t going to win anyone over.

Stolen from a friend in HR: there is no more H and pretty soon no more R either
HR doesn’t care about you. They are lap dogs of senior management and came up with most of the ideas leading to this fiasco in the treatment of U.S. employees. The remaining employees won’t forget what is now happening and have every right to doubt the credibility of their company. What short-sighted incompetence to save a few pennies on a SPOSA severance.
Let's face it, employee headcount reductions are more a result of poor business planning and bringing on more and more people to do work for the expansions. Now that covid completely destroyed that plan, we have no need for all those workers.
The people they are letting go are probably in the ~100k annual salary range. 75k x 20% x 100k = 1.5B
Now, if we start cutting out management fat ($200k+ salary), there is some real room to cover the dividend.
Let’s face it the employees aren’t important to the company but the dividend is. As long as everyone gets their dividend at the top it doesn’t matter about the lower staff.
Any gains we have made in people working as teams, sharing info, etc will be devastated as we enter the Hunger Games mode of surviving the next round of layoffs and ranking
HUGE us vs them mentality inside the Corp is developing. Feels like the beginning of an internal populist movement.
We are, um well, when we say we it doesn’t mean we as in all of us just we as in you know those of us who will actually get through this not those who won’t get through this. Yeah we, but not those people wil get through this together except those who don’t
