Thread regarding Gulfstream Aerospace layoffs

Any news on bringing back laid off people?

There were rumors a couple of weeks ago that recs for positions to bring back some people were in discussion. Anyone know more? I know where some help is sure needed but I'm not in the decision loop.

I was asked by my old boss to come back. Not going. New job pays better and I’m contributing a lot. Liked my work at Gulfstream and was good at it. But I could never trust a company that laid me off during a pandemic while taking government CARES act money designed to help businesses in this tough time. They can spend their government handout recruiting someone else to fill the hole I left. Gee that feels so damn good to say!

You couldn't pay me to go back. Its kind of like getting back with an ex boyfriend after he cheated on you with a girl and then she dumps him and now he wants you back. The trust and resentment for being fired is going to be so deep rooted that you'll be miserable or will have the thought lingering in the back of your mind that youll always be on the chopping block. This isn't good for anyone, especially the worker bee,
Just move on and get a fresh start at a new company and hopefully your career and life will prosper. there is life after GAC, I promise

I heard rumors that flight test is going to hire 80 contractors in the next 2 months. But they are like a__es they all stink. We will see what the election brings us.

I heard that they hired 3 electricians back in RDC section that were let go in the Rif. Brought them back as seniors top pay and 2 out of the 3 are not qualified for there position, but the butt that was kissed to get them back is long. Only because the management that brought them back are also electricians. I was let go after 20 plus years with the company because I am a mechanic with an a&p.

They have posted positions that were filled before the lay-off. A lot of people came back as contractors. It tells a lot about long term vision when you panic fire people and then end up rehiring. I can’t believe GAC leadership team gets highly pay for these poor decisions. How can they try to make people proud about gulfstream after rehiring them while they were laid off and treated like sh*t ?!

Some groups are trying to bring in people to replace those who quit since may.

Dont go back to the sh– hole. You dont want to be the dumb b–ch who keeps going back to the baby daddy who beats her.

Left recently; not too happy in my new job; would never go back to Gulfstream.

Why would you ever want to go back to that slow moving and unimaginative company that seems to be sinking slowly towards new lows? Get out of Savannah if you can.
