Thread regarding Gulfstream Aerospace layoffs

Gulfstream’s destruction from within.

Whistle blowers have been sounding the alarm for years about the cronies who were installed by GD to destroy a great American institution from within. Now that the institution is starting to crumble, I sincerely hope the sheep who choose to sit on their hands in denial will wake up before it really is too late. The auto industry unionized for this very reason and all you folks remember is the propaganda against the unions after management finally dealt the death blow. Unions didn’t destroy the auto industry, they merely served to protect the workers while greedy management finished what they set in place long before they came around. Unionize Gulfstream while you have at least a shred of your dignity left.

If any company needed a union it’s Gulfstream. If you had a union the practice of laying off older workers near retirement would end. This company is poorly led in my opinion. They are arrogant and do not listen, have one mindset. It’s nice be gone from such a place with inept leadership

kmp, why deal with union garbage? The Seattle union is putting out hit pieces on Charleston. Meanwhile, FOD in 767's (KC-46), 737's that could bring down the plane gets swept under the rug.

Bottom line: If you're a union member, you're a failure and you'll blame it on the other guy.

pmr nailed it. I'd quit my job if forced into a union. I stand for myself. Don't like your job? Quit. I did and you can too.

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result. You have been doing the same thing over and over again. Expecting a different result... A good number of employees are here because they are former employees. I doubt that those individuals are interested in forming a union at their former place of employment. Then there are those that are content where they are at. Also, not interested in forming a union. There are those that are already planning on leaving so not interested in forming a union. Why and how would another layer of "management" and "governance" help?

Only a complete conman would try to convince the Gulfstream blue collar workers that a union isn’t necessary today. Follow the management bonus program and you will quickly see the motive for the weak kneed union busting attempt on here.

Total BS and you know it. Boeing management has been waging a war against middle class union employees so they can afford more unjustified bonuses for their ever growing director and above class. Boeing have the sheep in Charleston to screw over. Gulfstream is already based in the south so there would be nowhere for greedy management to run to.

The union in Seattle just negotiated themselves out of thousands of jobs on the 787
