Thread regarding CenturyLink layoffs

Leaders are destroying this company

I see there were more layoffs yesterday. I can’t see how letting go of hard working employees can solve the problems this company is facing - especially with the leadership team we have in place. In my opinion most if not ALL should be replaced with more competent individuals. We have been having constant downsizing, restructuring and changes in our company direction for years and that needs to end. Create and implement definitive goals so that hopefully we can weather the consequences of a pandemic-affected economy with no more layoffs.

Despite the continued failure of the Executives here they once again come up with a scheme to try and save their incompetence. The stock holders are on to these jokers finally and the stock price reflects their lack of leadership and direction! I don’t see this working and it’s quite sad for the remaining people still there!

There aren’t any leaders in that whole organization! Just Yes men! And if you don’t buy into their ways you basically get low scores on reviews and become a low performer to weed you out! Very sad indeed especially for those who are good workers and push for success! Total favoritism and bias to the managers favorite crew! Such garbage!

Be careful how you use the word leader. When speaking to a leader, they make you feel important. When speaking to a manger, they let you know they are important. All of my supervisors while at CenturyLink were managers, never had a leader. So glad to be gone now for 4 months.

Level 3 got what they wanted and eliminated the few CenturyLink reps that were left. Welcome to Level 3....I mean Lumen. What a joke!

They got on the GEAR kick as soon as Level 3 took over. I can't mention names because they will delete my post if I do, but a well-known VP from level three actually told us in a meeting that is all they cared about. That is why they spent so much time moving the GEAR traffic over to its own network. That way when they dumped CenturyLink they will still have the stuff that makes the money.

Frontline and middle management in the Mid Sales segment is being eliminated. They are moving sellers to GEAR under a re-organization.

News flash- They don’t care what you think. You’re a number that can be replaced very easily.

Are you kidding me? Do you have a better plan to get CenturyLink into bankruptcy? It is intentional so they can shed the debt. Then walk away with the cream, which is the fiber backbone.

I hate to hear that. What segment is being eliminated?

Cutting under performers is one thing. Completely abandoning an entire segment of the business and the group(s) that grow your revenue and market share because you don’t understand it is quite another. Level 3 isn’t a sales organization and they continue to show it.
