Thread regarding Union Pacific Corp. layoffs

And Here We Go

Ok folks here we go......the ceo is at a 7% approval rating, the company was voted 3rd and then 1st in the worst places to work by Forbes (think about it for a second just how bad do you have to get to jump from third one year to first the next), and they are putting out fluff pieces to try to get a good image out there (either on the company website or other means of press). They constantly threaten people with shop closers and more layoffs if the production doesn’t increase with less workers to do the work (but if you actually try to fix something they complain even more). They also complain about the operation ratio but don’t really go after new business often and run off old businesses (bringing in Amazon and Waste Management isn’t impressive when you lose companies you had for years to competitors) . They say business is great by the stock price going up but yards go empty for hours or have very little traffic. The list goes on and on, the only thing workers can hope for is the day these people leave.

Exactly! Why should they care? Its only making the company look even worse on top of what the CEO is doing. Yeah the rating means nothing.

Pretty sure Vena Sausage and Fritz Hitler love that UP was voted worst place to work so they can show the shareholders they are doing everything they can not to have employees.

Who gave a fake review to boost his rating? I see this quite a bit, but nobody has any proof. It might have happened, but I doubt it. He doesn’t care about what his Glassdoor rating is and neither does the people he reports to. The only thing they care about is profit and stock price. The employees hating him has no effect on their decision making process. Everyone on this forum is obsessed with the CEO and company Glassdoor ratings and this means nothing to anyone else.

If the CEO doesn't give a squat about his approval rating, then why give a fake review to boost his rating?

This CEO doesn’t give a squat about his approval ratings. Doesn’t it affect his wallet? He’s not the POTUS. He’s not CEO for glass door approval ratings.

This post didn't really state anything that most or all of us already knew. His approval rating has been going down since he became the CEO. That rating went down faster after he started the PSR BS. The prestigious award of worst place to work was actually pretty predictable considering how he's been running the company. I wish I could say something to ease the hurt of it all. When he started this plan, everyone should've known 100% of what was to come. I lost job twice due to PSR. There and at CP. Where I screwed up was I had hope. I should've known better considering I already went through this before. I had hope the first time, and it failed me. Stupid me for having hope again, and thinking the UP wouldn't be as bad as the CP. The UP is every bit as bad as the CP was. I learned my lesson this time. I absolutely will not ever go back to that place. Unfortunately my RR career is over after 20+ years. Sure, I could go back if they called. After being let go twice because of PSR, well then thats just not a chance I want to take again. The executive team can complain all they want about the OR. If you don't have the steady business or new business coming in, then the efforts for a low OR are going to be short lived. The UP's problem are being compounded by bad rails, bad equipment, lack of personnel, poor working conditions, poor management, and a huge lack of trust. None of the remaining employees aren't very trustworthy towards the company. Remember those two a-holes at the top did this. The CEO has said many times that it's for the good of the company so they can stay competitive. They were doing good before PSR. The road to hell is paved with good intentions. Maybe one day he'll see that this plan wasn't the best idea.

@qbd+17 yea he’s apparently bounced back up to 8% recently so the flood of positive fake post are boosting him back up. These people only care about the money the lies they tell the stockholders and press will eventually mount up and the truth will get out.

7% approval? He was at 6. UP must be begging people to fill out some more positive reviews again.
