Thread regarding Pratt and Whitney layoffs

Here come replacements

How soon will they start replacing laid off people with cheaper workers? Fresh-from-college types who will work for a third of pay (but will also give a third - if even that much - of what the laid off employee gave in that position?) I'm guaranteeing you that people will start seeing their positions posted online within a couple a weeks at most. And yes, I'm bitter, but I think I have a good reason to be.

Don't know where he got the number "third of pay"?! A fresh out of college starts with about 60k (conservatively speaking). Are you implying that you are making 180k?

I agree with below,

Us younger folk are being molded for the future, like it or not. I graduated in December last year, and was thrown into a lot of work and learning when I started in January. Sorry but the much much older folk are on their way out. Why would the company not want younger engineers and personnel to who will be working on these engines and programs for their whole life cycles

I'm a fresh from college employee as it is and it is hilarious that you would think I work less hard than the old timers that literally fall asleep at their desks by 10am.

I don't know if I'm going to be spared from this nonsense but lol if you think young fresh blood is anything but the future of the company anyways. Engines will still be needed in 10, 15 years, the young employees are the future.
