Thread regarding Pratt and Whitney layoffs

Transparency is the key

In an era when mass layoffs are running throughout all industries and affecting major businesses this is the time when PW should give total transparency concerning layoffs. Instead, this company chooses to leave us hanging in the balance, unsure if we will still have employment from one day to the next. Many of us have been struggling, with thoughts of being on that list hanging over our heads. I can’t sleep, I can’t eat, and my work performance is slowly deteriorating. It’s the ‘not knowing’ that is k–ling me. Perhaps if I knew one way or the other it would bring me some form of relief and allow me to move on - one way or the other.

I so agree with this. It's terrible. First-line managers have not been asked for input either. So who knows what algorithm is being used! I wish they would at least tell us the date.

The best time to leave is when you have another job waiting for you

Even if I am not on the list, I will leave... had enough and lost respect for this company
