Just got a call from a Senior GF from Enola asking if I want to transfer and that they are calling furloughed electricians.

You id–ts have a lotta nerve calling yourselves electricians. You cant even change a lightbulb
Yeah, give up a job and burn a bridge with an employer, relocate to a new area, start off at the bottom of the seniority roster, get laid off again, lose everything again. Let's get right on it!
How dare you call yourselves electricians., You socalled electricians have no idea what your doing.
Yeah so you can move and start at the bottom of the roster and get furloughed again. Fudge That!!!!
Wonder if they take furloughed electricians from outlying points or just shop guys
There's a reason enola has been losing electricians (and other crafts) weekly
If you can troubleshoot a POS locomotive that was wired in 1970 you can troubleshoot most any modern industrial equipment with actual readable prints. So much more maintenance friendly. If you know how to read a meter, and you know how to troubleshoot a basic DC control circuit, there are a lot more places that will hire you and pay a lot more than you think. There’s a very high demand for industrial maintenance right now. I got laid off this year and I was a mediocre railroad electrician, no electrical experience outside of NS, only worked as an electrician a few years, most of my electrical knowledge came from McDonough, GA. I’ve been offered several different jobs $26, 27, 29, 32/hr doing industrial maintenance. Most all have better work life balance than NS. Best thing I can tell those still working who are worried about getting laid off.. learn all you can about programable controllers, and the onboard network, Ethernet switches etc. having a good knowledge on that will also fetch you a good bit of money outside of NS.
C,mon These people arent really electricians. An electrician is someone who can troubleshoot., An electrician is someone that can wire a building., An electrician is someone who can wire to code anything you throw at them. These so called electricians from N.S. have to follow these jobs from city to city because no one else looking for a true electrician would hire them.
Really, it says it twice. ENOLA
Transfer to where ?
