Thread regarding Home Depot Inc. layoffs

Weekly bonuses and other expanded worker benefits to become permanent?

I just read an article about Home Depot boosting hourly wages as housing market booms and company plans to give hourly workers a permanent pay increase. Is there any more detail on this?
My mother works in a company and I’m interested in what it’s really about. I'm afraid there might be some cold strategy behind it all, not concern for the workers.

They replaced the temporary $50 a weekly covid bonus by increasing the hourly wage. One person told me $14.50 hr got boost to $15.75. Plus Homedepot is considered an essential company during the pandemic so good job security. Business is booming so I don't see massive layoffs coming anytime soon. I would encourage veterans to apply. Homedepot is a pro vet company.
