How is outsourcing to a 3rd world country secure? asking for a friend.

If your skills are broad, solid, and current maybe Intel will still want you but you have the freedom and ability to leave. For those whose skills atrophied, took an Intel-only job with no marketability outside of Intel, or went up the ranks mainly because your boss protected you, you will struggle to make it outside of Intel.
Just be prepared for the day your manager sets up a 1:1 with you and when you show up to the conference room he has his briefcase. End game. You know you will get axed and you still stick around being lazy, stay home, no work and don't look for a job. Everyone deserves what they get. Sorry for being blunt.

Frankly, seeing how Intel IT works I don't understand what is the point of it's existence. Service level is so low that we had to create team within our organization to perform the same role, just under different name and with skilled, motivated people instead of Indian contractors hired straight from the street.
BS... I have broad skills, still was laid off. Everyone - update your resumes. Even if you are productive and on a busy "important" team you could still be laid off. Even with a stellar performance year.
They will offshore all InfoSec to India
Google says: Brent Conran is a vice president of Information Technology and the Chief Information Security Officer for Intel Corporation. Basically another looser who makes millions while his people are being laid off.
Who is Conran?
Not in BC’s hand, he brought 100M last year, but it’s the company’s outcome - failing to innovate.
He is right it will shrink a lot and eventually outsourced.
It doesn't feel so secure to work for him anymore
