Is the announcement of Don Templin's retirement planned or does this come as a surprise? If a surprise why the decision to retire?

He was probably pushed because he wanted to move departments from Findlay to other locations with a talent pool
Probably 10 years for retirement eligibility but I'm sure the rules are different for the executive level guys.
Why does ten years matter?
He stood against me and the Qs in Findlay and he lost!
