Confirmation of severance payout

Just spoke with HR. The current schedule for employees whose last day was 9/25/2020 and after the severance is being paid out on the last company pay day prior to the end of the 60 days after your last date.

So the example she provided if your pack's (she used the term pack several times) last day with the company is 9/25/2020 the 60 days after that is 11/24/2020 since October has 31 days. The severance will be sent via certified check on the last company pay date prior to 11/24/2020 so it should arrive in your mailbox around a week after that. She stated they cannot direct deposit since they legally cannot keep your personal bank information on file after 30 days of your term date.

That is at least what I was told and wanted to pass it along to those still waiting for their severance.

You may want to call in and ask again. My last day was 10/30/20. I just received a copy of my severance payment and it is being direct deposited on 11/13/20

With the amount of money paid out during this BS, you would think an extra few dollars for overnight postage would not be big deal but typical Allstate wants to save money.

I can almost guarantee they will have everyone’s out by 12/31. They want the write off. They lied about how many were let go and how they went about choosing. They are doing what benefits them the most and cutting that check prior to year end is what is best for them.

So I guess those of us with last days at Thanksgiving, will wait til January!?!? That's going to make for a Merry Christmas...not! Thanks Allstate!

It would be nice to have it direct deposited within 30 days. 2 months without a paycheck is going to be hard. Anyone received their severance before the 60 days?
