SVP of North America Sales resigns. He was a past coworker with and handpicked by the COO. He resigns in what should be the best commercial qtr of the year as 4th qtr always is year in and year out. His last day is November 16th and the reason given is he wants to spend more time with his family? We have all been locked down with our families for the past 6-7 months...not sure that rationale passes the logic test. Anybody have any thoughts on this and should we be concerned for the future?

There's still a ton of VMware, Cisco, etc, old-timers from 10-15 years ago. These folks just can't/won't adapt. They're stuck in their ways. For those that are still around, an a– ton of them keep getting undeserved promotions. They're just slowing everyone down.
The COO isn’t even qualified for his role. Look at his LI profile, nothing there really speaks to COO or even a sales leader. He’s also not the right person.
Wait till the Great Assh..le be inaugurated. You may be worried right after.
What is challenging is that he was the COO's recruited handpicked choice for the job. Looks like a questionable choice. I think we have people that have been here for a while that could do the job
He s—ed plain as simple. He is crass, backward thinking and, to some degree, not qualified for the role. He thinks we are VMWare from 15 years ago but we aren’t; not even VMWare today is the VMWare from 15 years ago. Bottom line, if we don’t know what the customer needs and don’t have tools aligned then be worried because the countdown is starting.
