Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

I'm wondering

How many of you would accept the voluntary option if the offer was better? And what exactly would you consider an appropriate amount to be?

Dear 30 yr old with 3 years of service, please do everyone a favor and LEAVE! It’s clear that you’re not happy. For those who have worked with the Company for many years, we’ve worked hard and we don’t need your pitiful Gen X bad actor attitude!

What do those x/y/z numbers like 2/2/2 mean?

Exxon doesn't really want people to take voluntary. The less people that sign up today makes more people over the next few years. Attrition is what what we are hoping for!

The current package is to get the people 59 1/2+ out ASAP. I believe there will be an actual package when the cuts of managers and additional staff from HW3 and TMTS occur.

Any 2/2 or 3/3 will cap age to 60 and will not any more service than you would have had at age 60. The cash payout will be 4 months not a year.

I’ve been with the company 3 years, 30 years old. I would dance out of this m-f-for 6 months pay and 12 months health insurance.

Some just want to get the heck out of Dodge and will take the 4 months since it’s better than nothing. Sometimes the stress just isn’t worth it.

3/3/1 and my a– is out of this hell hole. Would even consider a 3/3/0.

Exxon is getting rid of employees that would have stayed with the company for a longer duration. It is not the intent to get to the headcount targets this year. Their plan is longer durations (3 years+)

If getting more retirement eligible people in this layoff, then the attrition rates due to retirement would be down the next couple of years. We can't have that.

Since we all know what they're offering is a joke.
