Thread regarding Windstream Corp. layoffs

What really is it?

I was thinking, if WIN is not really a software company and their tip and ring is ancient, what really do they offer? Let's be real. Look at Facebook, Amazon, Twitter, Instagram. I suppose they might be good for rural internet. That's a WIN.

Right on the colos. I found one old Nuvox colo we were getting charged $5 per cross connect and had 30,000 in recurring costs in that one CO. No traffic on any of it.

I contacted the engineering Director responsible for for our LD network at the time. He said "It is a lot of work for us to turn down the colo, we would rather eat the cost."

Told me all I needed to know about his team.

I hope the back stabbing manager of mine that said she didn't know to me and the remaining team gets her call very soon. I can't wait to hear about it on FB - "revenge it best served cold" and WINTER is here

Company loses money every month with the CLEC/reseller side. Elliot will shut down most Central Offices. If that office doesnt support Winter State or OfficeSuite then it will be closed and all people that support those offices and services will lose their job. There are tens of millions of dollars to make. All the collocations can also be closed. You have layers of CLEC networks and never closed a single CO, its amazing that its like Windstream did NOT want to make money as they refused to consolidate that bloated network. Elliot will bring in outside resources to get this done quickly. I was once in a telecom hotel and Windstream had 6 Central Offices in that one building. Each ran independently of one another and were simply tied together with OC48s, thats all Windstream did to integrate the networks. Every suite had a 5e or dms, generators, hvacs, etc. And not one of those 6 central offices was at 10% capcity, could have closed 5 of them and left them one standing and the savings from that telecom hotel was over $1M per month. So much money out there, its going to happen quickly so buckle up

They are selling services now, They are an MSP not an ISP.

If they have network they can make money. Type 2 circuits on the CLEC
Networks are too expensive and we can't make money (losing money right now).
Most markets we have been underwater since February. Elliot is chopping heads after the election!

I think if we start canning and selling chili with an LR5 group photo we can turn a profit.
