CareerConnect Skills

So I’ve heard from a reliable source that careerconnect skills will play (or already has played) a role in the involuntary selection process. What happens to those who forgot to update it this year? Are they getting supervisor blessing or input on these skills/factors?

Self skills assessment was pushed with a deadline date of October 31. Development planning discussions must happen before Thanksgiving. Your goose gets cooked if Career Connect is not updated and you’ve not met with your Supervisor AND agree on your skills. Notifications to employees start on December 1. Remember communication went out in September and wheels were already in motion for layoffs. This is just a formal CYA thing.

They probably already know who will be included in the lay-off but I would get the assessment done. Don’t make it easy.

Did your Manager or Supervisor approve it?

Wow, we were told to finish by Oct 31 as it was not going to be used before then. Scary.

I just participated to an meeting on the various packages.
Skills will definitely play a role in the assessment. They represent 40% of a 3 tier score.
The other two categories will be Mobility and Ranking (last 3 years).
Please note we were told that skills were downloaded by HR well in advance of the OCT-31 deadline, this was done with no official communication to employees. What do you think?

It was clearly spelled out in the presentations that SDA (skill dev assessments) and fit are 70% of decision with 30% being current and previous performance. In our organization, we were required to update career Connect by Oct 31 and provide detailed documentation by skill set as to why we chose the skill level we did.

I was told from supervisor that careerconnect skills really won't play that much importance in this layoff.

If you can't tell how rushed this layoff already is.. some organizations don't even have a process outlined for how many need to be let go per location/group. It's a sh– show. Likely going to end up as same criteria as the performance assessment.

It’s from last year evaluation. Most job families didn’t get them in until now or soll wait until January.
