I passed, and like many others, it was entirely unjustifiable for me to be on it in the first place. But, life isn't fair, and I'm a fighter similar to @1pnw+17Jk3Xhn. I worked my a$$ off, was visible 3-4 levels up, and made it clear that it would be a significant loss if I was let go.

I find it funny all the folks on here before end of PIPs were saying with 100% confidence it was an impossibility. These same people are now saying with 100% confidence that most, if not all PIPs, will be included for the involuntary. I call BS. Will some get caught up in it? Probably. But, is it a foregone conclusion if you were on PIP that you will be let go? Not a chance. But, as we all know, trolls will be trolls.

Every day at EM is going to be a giant PiP for most everyone for a long time going forward. Work your tails off just hoping to survive, knowing the odds are not good.

Should change name of company to Pips R Us

We knew a small number would have to be allowed to pass pip but will be included in the lay-off except maybe a small percentage if any that PR says to keep so they can dig their way out of this foot in mouth position. Public image is very important for Exxonmobil.

If you don't think the process is going to be exactly about soft skills and performance, I got a bridge to sell you.

The same people that ranked you are also the same people putting together the list. Why would it be any different?

I believe the question is will anyone who was Pip’d be Rhett after the lay-off?

Yes. there are people that won the PIP. though the same people that put them in the PIP bucket are the same ones approving the list for layoffs. seems to me that those that pass are about to be given a fair severance for all their hard work.

Is that sarcasm or are you being a j$:k off!

I know several who were given the message halfway there they wouldn’t make it and ended up changing to PIL. I won the PIP lottery as my manager cared for me and she didn’t think what was done was right and created a PIP that was achievable. I worked my @$s off with lots of late nights and stressful weekends ensuring I did everything I could to pass. I made myself visible to the next two layers of management and showed I’m a fighter.

So was the process fair and balance not for those that didn’t stand a chance because their managers just saw them as obstacles and numbers to get rid off. Fortunately there are still good managers that value their team members and fought back. If more had done so maybe management wouldn’t be so quick next time to use the PIP as a layoff tool.

Now another 1900 people will be laid off and it’s unfortunate. At least this time it’s based off business environment and not some fake metric around not being _______ (fill in the blank with a soft skill) enough.

Gee, so many below passed the PIP.
From such a small sample that tried it, and visit this board daily.

I guess the process was indeed fair and transparent on the whole.
And the management truly appreciates your correction of their intentions.
Congrats!

Wrong. FAQ states so long as you are not on an active PIP in December can you not be part of voluntary program. Confirmed with both supervisor and DH of our division.

@tpr — Not correct. In the FAQ it states Employees who pass PIP before Nov 30th are eligible for selection in the involuntary layoff.

All PIPs are going to be concluded before 11/30 so even if you pass you are not safe.

lol greedy employees hanging on to their jobs and paychecks after such humiliation. The question we need to ask is why? The answer is unemployability and a lifestyle of laziness, fake work and addiction to trivial perks.

Congratulations to all those that passed the PIP. I admire your courage to take the challenge and the resilience to pass. Job well done. I am really proud of you all.

If you passed the PIP you can’t be laid off per the policies published regarding the involuntary layoffs.
And I know of 2 people, just in our small BL, who successfully passed.

I did.

But I fully expect to be laid off given that they made those decisions already and had no supervisor input.
