Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

How often do they make mistakes like this?

I took 10 days pto before I quit, was still paid for my unused days, and then later after time passed I received a fed ex from HR telling me I owed them back 3 days pto because they made a mistake on my final pay. I now owe close to $ 900 which I was told in the notification would be put in collections after 60 days if not paid back. What a joke, how can a large company...

Unbelievable that they make such a mistakes!
Does anyone have similar experiences with errors like this?
I don’t know exactly what I would do if I were you, @1rwd+17FbIlP6.

Contact your state's Wage and Hour Board. They should be able to advise you. Once Allstate took taxes out for a "bonus" which I never received. I contacted HR/payroll, they didn't want to help. I threatened the Texas Wage and Hour Board and it got corrected. Oh, the "bonus" was a SAP input error. I pay attention to every dollar and penny that is mine.

I was in a commission job and they tried to pull the same c-ap with my final commission check. Call their bluff - they can’t submit you to collections. This is not a debt

This is the reason why they slid pay by a week in Jan 2020. They were preparing for all these layoffs and the extra week gave them the slack to calculate things accurately. Make sure their #s are correct.

I left the company in August, I had accrued plenty of pto before my departure, it was their timekeeping error nothing I did wrong. I also received another collection notice this week which doesn't explain what exactly it is for, I think it may be from my agent, I had an Allstate policy since day one in 1996, payroll deduct payments, after I left cancelled my policy and switched to a different carrier, they are trying to collect even after I cancelled. $81 owed and another threat to put me in collections. Seems like a comedy of errors, HR, Timekeeping, Agency, no one has their $$it together anymore.

Unlike other jobs where you must put in 12 months time before you can take time off. Allstate advances PTO time. If you draw the time, then quit. You'll owe for the time not yet earned. Sorry that happened to you. Best to pay it back.
