I was laid of July 10 2020, in my severance package paperwork it lists all positions with age of person. An X placed next to those that were severed. I counted 990 people kept on the Noble staff by tallying up those without an X. So therefore if it is reported 570 people were severed a couple of days ago it is not 25% over 50% is more likely. 570 out of 990.

That's what I thought. It's a shame that managers and VP's lied to our faces, when they said the summer re-org had nothing to do with Chevron.
Doesn’t surprise me FormerHR both companies are full of snakes
This acquisition has been going on since 2019. Chevron cut a deal with Noble & asked to cut headcount before they inked the deal. Noble agreed. Hence 3 layoffs (COVID, summer and prior to acquisition). Noble has lost more than 60% of green badges prior to covid. Do the math. It’s simple.
They said they'll keep 25% of Noble positions...not 25% of Noble US or Noble Houston positions. C'mon man...
I personally think your math is correct for Houston office. Not everyone is leaving in the 11/6 but many are. Some are leaving on 11/16; 12/15; 2/15/21; 4/30/21; 6/30/21; and 12/31/21.
Dates I have heard.
"Go ahead and file."
???
What the F are you talking about?
Go ahead and file. You signed a waiver but you’re smarter than everyone else. Be smart and file a law suit!
You’re simply wrong. Just stop, there’s no conspiracy.
And I know several that had none or few.
Although the exact numbers seem to being kept under wraps for the moment, the math suggests in that 25% range. Also, they have to file in TX, so they can’t say 25% and do 50%.
Perhaps. I know some people working and one department I am familiar with was cut by 50%.
Couple of things:
1) read the articles, the 570 number is an estimate based on 2019 employment numbers. (, I.e., 25% x 2019 pay role). The actual number number of employed in 2020 at the time of the merger was lower, so 570 is high.
2) I believe your math is wrong. It wouldn’t be 570/990. It would be 570/(570+990)
