Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Let me get this straight

We know they're going to lay off 1,900 people but we also know they'll only notify only a part of them today? And the rest will learn their fate between now and December 15? So the nightmare will continue for another month and a half, at least? Are you f—ing kidding me???

@zhl+17FnA4Ja - curious what your supervisor told you. I don’t think he knew how this would play out until today.

Phase 1, the voluntary separation program will happen in November for retirement eligible only. For those who apply for the program, management has to approve they can take it. They have to get the Phase 1 count before Phase 2, the involuntary separations will be notified in December. People within 3 years of being retirement eligible and new hires are not in scope. Redundancy selection "based on an assessment of critical skills, long-term fit with ExxonMobil's core values - combined accounting for 70% - and current/prior performance which accounts for 30%"

I’d say the nightmare will continue until end of 2022 or until the stock magically jumps back up.

Which business line said some will know today? GSC shared that involuntary will know before December 15th but not until after involuntary was concluded.
