5 years in here, I’m probably done. I took some BS assignment in an area the company once valued but moved on with. Hopefully they factor in my prev experience before this assignment.

Checked my PDS roadmap, never have required sign off beyond my manager. This time his boss is an added signatory. Done like dinner folks!
Anyone in Lindaland - UBD & UIS - should be worried. She will take pride in using cuts as her metric for cost savings “success”.
Plus subsurface, exploration in particular, is super expensive and laden with retired-in-place people milking the system.
Also way too many know-nothing supervisors and newly minted managers.
My gut says I won't. 10 years in so a lot invested in me, but I'm not nearly as expensive as folks who have been around twice as long. We'll see.
I think the site engineering organizations are mostly safe. Messaging seems to indicate the Spring Campus and Hughes Landing are getting hit the hardest. I speculate this will eventually lead to a consolidation of all those employees to the Spring Campus post pandemic (elimination of the Hughes landing site to reduce costs).
As for the site engineering organizations, seems like they will probably be mostly ok. I think Application Engineers will mostly be ok as long as the site isn’t to much above historical averages for that group. It is a highly skilled position and one of the hardest to recruit and find good candidates. It is also a position that can implement lower cost solutions that can provide $$$’s in return.
BTES is baytown technical engineering services - process control applications, systems, fixed and rotating machinary, reliability etc. I hear 50% layoff.
What’s BTES?
US Chemical manufacturing sites have 0 impact.
Only redundant workers affected. I don't think my position has a twin somewhere else.
@eoh+17F7xJ5g I believe most of the folks impacted will be at the Houston campus and Hughes Landing. I don't think you have a lot to worry about...
Yes I am really worried. I work in BTES baytown applications process control and hear 50% layoffs. I am 35, wife and kids and wife not working. Really scared how to find a new job.
