I have worked with a lot of first level supervisors that were bumped back to worker bee status. Most of them did not make very good team mates. They would rather be politicking than actually working. They can't wait for another opportunity to be promoted, but it almost never happens. When they finally figure that out, then they move on.
Just noticing a couple of posts here are from managers. Keeping their jobs, but moving to individual contributors. How nice for you. You were part of the leadership team that drove Noble into the ground. Now you're getting in one last shot by displacing more competent underlings to keep your jobs. Pathetic. No worries though. Moving from management to staff rarely works out. You'll be competing against workers with more current skills and without the safety net of DS et al to protect you. Good luck with that. You won't last long.
