Thread regarding UnitedHealth Group Inc. layoffs

Morale is completely in the dumps

They want to feel good about false scored Surveys but there are incentives to just score high for both the mid managers and employees. Meanwhile there is no motivation for people in departments because of lack of raises, bonuses, or promotional opportunities. Not to mention the layoffs and budget cuts every year. They want you to just be happy having a job and to do much more with less. It is pathetic and awful. F the leadership in this company.

I’m a GL 28 manager with a team of 10-15.

I’ve never seen individual responses to the survey and I have no way of knowing how people responded.

But my department leadership continually dismisses bad survey results or implements half a$$ solutions to make it look like they’re trying. The whole thing is a waste of time.

I would recommend just abstaining from the survey all together.

Its confidential not anonymous. You sign into it to take the survey so yes absolutely they can see everyones survey. NOT ANONYMOUS.

@2tnf+17EUUO7r - BS! I had a previous Manager who knew who made the comments. They log into a virtual machine and backdoor your computer so they can actually watch you take the survey. It’s never been anonymous! It’s pointless...

I have been in a survey review session with senior management. They spend most of the time figuring out who gave negative comments. And they are pretty good at it. Surveys are confidential but not anonymous. I give 5 star. Everyone should give 5 star. Less pain in the long run. Low ratings means everyone suffers.

You keep on thinking they don't know who said what on those surveys. My manager was all over the results like flies on poo. She would talk to everyone trying to figure out who downvoted her and once she figured it out (or thought she did) that person would be gone. Getting those results was always a super stressful time. We begged each other to just give all 5s and save the misery.
She's still there. Down to about 3 miserable employees who I am sure still give her glowing survey results.

Surveys are 100% done by external companies and your identity is masked so to say that it is to weed out malcontents is false. The only thing that may identify you is the comments section. If you write something only you would know, then people will know who submitted it.

The surveys are just a tool to identify and layoff the malcontents. Never answer honestly unless you happen to believe that the place is 100% awesome.
