tomorrow at 9 am, bunch of town hall type meetings taking place in org. News will prob come out then.
Invite for what? 1:1?
Team meetings being scheduled for tomorrow. I got an invite.
The news will quickly be overshadowed by the election if they wait until Monday...possible P&GA strategy
Seems to make sense that an announcement will come within the next week. I’m not as optimistic as others thinking it will be Thursday. But regardless, I am pretty darn confident that individual employees won’t have any insights for at least a couple of months. Because once the total number is identified, there will be a process to evaluate what positions stay in the US and what positions leave. And then a second round of validating if those that are in a position that are moving, or a better fit for a position that is staying. So I think that individual employees won’t have clarity until late November/December.
The cuts will be announced during the earnings call Friday, need some good news to offset the bad news of another losing quarter. Only the percentage will be announced Friday, employees won’t know who or how many from each site until later. After Wall Street hears about a 30% headcount reduction, the stock will jump 5% on the good news. The board and LT at sites will give each other high fives in between bacon wrapped shrimp and 100 year old scotch. They will also get additional RSUs for all the hard work they did and for what they accomplished. It will be a great day of celebration.
I love how so many are expecting a spineless, weak, hidden, and incompetent management team to actually execute this well.
It will be like all other examples of DW and the boys, absolutely F it up in the worst way. Fully expect lists to leak or them to lie to Wall Street or worse, their most valuable resourse, THEIR PEOPLE!
They suddenly aren't going to learn Leadership and management skills overnight. Time to buckle up, gonna be a ride.
It will be Thursday. The admins were booking team meetings for Thursday late this PM. DW will have board meeting Wednesday AM, employees will be informed about timing.
“Those of us that remain will be in this together” — Ancient exxon proverb
That email better say they are proud of us!
@1puy+17DVQGQd: The stock could bounce to $33.
Darren's message was talk to board this week and tell employees shortly after. Seems likely they would disclose this week before the earnings call, the stock should bounce as layoffs would reduce the cash burn. Employees would learn maybe late this week or next week.
It's coming out on thursday for sure and the earning call will be better than you all expect.
During the earnings call Exxon will announce they lost money again, BUT the good news is we are still paying the dividend AND (here’s where it gets better) we are reducing expenses 12% by reducing headcount in the U.S. by 30% and we are in talks with a buyer for the Spring campus. DW will announce that 2021 and beyond will be great years as we expect oil prices to rise sharply and as a much leaner organization, we will be profitable at $22/barrel oil.
@yqi+17DVQGQd I’ll dress up as Woods, giving out pink letters! Happy Halloween in Campus! Wooooo.....
Most definitely on friday morning . ..when SL announces DWs termination to the investment community....cake will be served awards in the woodlands atrium
@vug+17DVQGQd This makes the most sense to me too. Also less time for leaks over the weekend if they need to inform the BL’s of the cuts and numbers that need to be reduced.
Let’s hope their smart and start with voluntary layoffs/retirement persuasion first. It may help boost moral and at least it can show are pretending to care for the employees.
Late Thurs or just before the earnings call, an email will go out. I bet on Friday AM. They don’t want employees to learn from the earnings call and don’t want the market to learn from employees so timing needs to be close.
I’m thinking tomorrow or Thursday.
Agree, corporation will want to go to the investors on Friday with a general plan.
Nothing like ruining everyone’s Halloween weekend with fear!
They have to make some sort of general announcement on Thursday before the earnings call on Friday. Individual employees could begin to learn their fate next week or so.
