Thread regarding Gulfstream Aerospace layoffs

Laid-off people, where are you now ?

Out of curiosity, where did you all end up at after the last lay-offs ? What company/City ?

If unwilling to share the company for anonymity, at least share the city :)

I’d like to know how many went back to GAC? How many did not return and feel like they are doing better? Coming up on four years….

Same place I have been for many years, enjoying my early retirement. Have my own business stress free, no boss or telling me when I have to take off. Thanks GAC for the opportunity of enjoying freedom. No more worries of future lay offs.

Plenty of aviation related opportunities in Warner-Robins, just a 2.2 hour jaunt down I-16.

I’m west of the Mississippi. I quit shortly after the RIF. I was hoping to get RIFed and even asked to be but those a holes wouldn’t even do that. I had been there over a decade so the separation package would have been nice. Only issue out west is the liberalism creeping in. It’s not organic and it’s not welcome but it’s here. I’ll be back in the south before long. Oh I’m making abut 40% more and don’t have to live in a sh–hole like Savannah.

I was laid off in October last year, found a job in Bluffton SC. My pay was cut in half but worth it. Been there 8 months and I received my first promotion. I have more opportunity at my current company then I did at gulfstream

IT, I found a remote position and can live wherever I want. Keep networking on LinkedIn, my friends.

Western US. Still looking for job 6 months later. Have had offers but only want to pay 1/2 of former salary. It’s insulting.

Mid-Atlantic region is as much as I’ll say. Extremely happy. Better pay and bennies. Miss co-workers at GAC. Loved my work there. But I am really contributing here now too.

Still in manufacturing with better pay. Honestly it feels like I left high school all over again. It's so nice to work with responsible adults and not people who act like petty teenagers.
