Price Matching

BN is now price matching their own website. Of course they have been doing this for over a year and never announced it. They should be sued for not disclosing this information to the public. Down with Daunt, Riggio, BN.

Price matching causes the stores lost revenue. Hence we were told not to advertise it. We only offered it if the customer brought it up. Not a great way to run a business.

At my store booksellers were told to not match prices unless the customer asked the store did not want to lose revenue. This was a deceitful business practice by B&N. Shameful.

I like Target, but they really are not that cheap.

Amazon prices fluctuate.
Once you save it in your cart, the price jumps if you do not buy immediately.
Once they completely own and dominate the market, their prices will go up.

EBay is still my go to for bargains.
You just need to be patient and pounce on the good deals, which are plenty.

Let's face it, most everyone has given up on Barnes & Noble. Everyone goes to Amazon first, then comparison shop whether it's with Google Shopping or some other site. Only an id–t will go into Barnes & Noble and pay those prices!

Hello, TJ Maxx, Target, Marshalls and all the other discounted stores that are doing well right now!

When I worked at Barnes and Noble as a bookseller, and was at the cash wrap, I only told customer that we would match the online price if they asked. I was instructed to do this by my store manager. The store did want to lose money by matching the online price. Shame on Barnes and Noble for a dishonest, deceitful practice.

When I was a bookseller at cash wrap we were only allowed to match the online price if the customer asked for it. It was a very unfair and deceitful practice. The store manager did not want to lose money. Shame on B&N.
