Thread regarding Teradata Corp. layoffs

Layoffs are coming

Key meetings being moved out of next week. Managers scurrying to get people to move forward task completions ahead of next week. Friends being protected and silently moved into safer roles. Yes. It’s happening.

Bumping to top from @1cxd+17yaQetr. Just because there isn't much public info about layoffs, it doesn't mean it's not happening. Make sure you're prepared.

Layoffs never went away, it's just some are larger than others. Great for morale!

How do these things usually work? The layoffs begin in the americas and then roll across other parts of world after that?

Talking about cost savings WHILE bringing in new execs! That's not how it works. So now they have to layoff the little guys to pay for another rung in the too tall management ladder.

Watch out, Teradata doesn't cover benefits for the rest of the final month. Last day of work = last day of benefits. Cobra will cover you thought. All the best for this week

It’s gonna be this week. They want all this done by month end. Hopefully the people who get cut have an effective date of November 1st so they have a final month with benefits.

The logistical trick is going to be the global work from home so this might be an early announcement by group with the actual talks within departments over a couple days. I could see the high level announcements for Monday followed by the individual interviews over a couple days. I can see it being announced early to catch everyone over the week in case people are out, sick, etc.

I just want them to get it over with so we can all get back to work or know it’s over.

I think it’s fair to say if your product isn’t directly cloud applicable don’t be surprised if HR comes calling.

I’m still worried the Monday rumors might be wrong and this is going to drag into November.

Only 5% here are from TD...based off what data (pun intended). Lots of TD folks here, all looking for hope and information, not that this lame duck CEO gives a flying frak.

I'm not sure anyone cares about TD but we all care about our jobs.

If only 5% of these posts come from TD folks it is still very compelling story for an exit. Very demoralized, demotivated bunch which is an outcome of long decay called by the mo–nic LT transformation. Waiting to be axed or this or next year. I feel sorry for myself even reading this

So true ....there are organisations within TD where a VP reports to another VP !!. Support function such as Sales Operations ( not sure what they do apart from taking care of SFDC ) have huge layers of people with nil or marginal utility ....

Irrespective of how much the revenue. TD never had so many CX’s , SVP, VPs n Directors. And they are talking about saving cost. And every time fire consultants and add more n more higher levels. If CEO or anyone wants to save cost get HR to extract information about how spread at top 2-4 layers have multiplied since so called transformation started.

This is the reason for lack of progress as people are just trying to justify existence at higher levels rather than doing anything worth for company or customers. How many of higher levels are talking to customers.

On internal PPT’s n Excels you can say what you want.

I love this forum. You guys actually think that anyone cares about tdc. No. One. Does. Great kit 20 years ago. How many new logos in the last 5 (answer 0). Btw even during the good times, tdc never broke 3b in revenue.

Nicolas Chapman, our new strategy dude, was brought into restructure us. This is what he did at last gig

Key initiatives included development and execution of a restructuring plan, developing and implementation of a new go-to-market model, build out of an alliance strategy with public cloud providers, SIs and telcos, and turnaround of an acquired emerging product.
