Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

To those laid off

Why are you still complaining on here? Every insurance company in the industry knows you’re Allstate’s sloppy seconds now. You obviously will have difficulty finding another adjuster position. How about you use your spare time working on your resume or applying for a job? What good does whining do at this point? Grab your bootstraps, and pull yourself up. I am not trying to be negative or anything. I just want you guys to understand the situation you are in right now.

To Those Laid Off, unfortunately for they do not have the insight to know that they are actually in all reality the oh so fortunate ones... Not those who will be absorbed into other positions, for the one season being kept at the grindstone will be the ones truly devastated. Those being laid off are going to receive their huge pensions... Those being kept are Not Going To See One Penny Of Their Retirement Sccounts That They Themselves,
Have Funded ...! That’s beyond
Sad ...! It’s downright Criminal ...!
And That’s Exactly What’s Happening ... 1st the Older Workers, THEn the Pensions...!
SO, Who is Really Loosing? !Precisely !

@CSL: “reflect on why you were chosen to get cut”? are you aware no one who was part of the RIF was given an explanation as to why this happened to them other than “you no longer have a role”? If you lost anyone, you must be one of the “leaders” who took the chicken-s—t way out and opted not to be on the call while your employee(s) faced the unfortunate news alone. What a yellow back. Fare well, you’ll need best wishes MF.

For the id–t posting by “surviving CSL,
I have news for you that they cut some in your position We’re at a higher level of performance than you based on your id–tic comments. The company has it stated why those people lost their jobs so there is no way to concentrate on what those areas would be. So many have been top performers and exceeding in their position and were let go. By your comments you will be next to go In all likelihood. It is obvious and typical that someone in your position quite often lacks basic common sense And got your position by being a sheep

To the young kid who wrote this one, I am sure by this time next year, you will be gone either by finding another job on your own or being let go by Allstate. Obviously you have no clue about the real world. Grow up little kid!!!

This would seem more sincere if the writer wasn't living rent free in the room he grew up in.. last time he will ever live in a house other than a rental

I am curious as to how much an unrepped adjuster with “32.5 years of experience” makes. Probably at least 1.5 times someone recently promoted from LDU. Is someone with “32.5 years of experience” and better for Allstate? Most definitely not. The world is a hard place. If you don’t advance in life, sometimes you don’t make it. I hope your old lion as finds someway to survive in your remaining years. Godspeed old people

Oh look, it’s one of the poor performing employees that the big blue deemed “safe for now”. It feels good to finally be at the top now, doesn’t it? You feel lucky, blessed, chosen... finally feel like you belong?! Newsflash: the employees that were kept are all low performing, inside the box thinkers with no backbone. They got rid of the real talent because those employees were top performing, high paid individuals who challenge the process. Don’t think for second that you are the “best in the business” - because all you are is a low paid sheep who will be canned during the next round. I’m sure you already live in mommy’s basement- so when you get knocked off your high horse you won’t have far to fall.

I laughed at the "obviously will have difficulty finding another adjuster position" line.

That's an exceedingly asinine statement. So much so that I can only assume this is a very low quality troll job.

To Mr or Ms Sloppy Seconds commenter: you should be ashamed of yourself for such harsh words during this time. I was impacted - 32.5 years of devoted service- very high performer and compensated accordingly- I AM NOT anyone’s “sloppy seconds” and never will be - shame on you!!!

The people that are redundant mostly are good workers. They were in a role Allstate now thinks they don’t need. Plenty of people still have jobs that are poor performers because they are needed in that particular role. The assessment was a facade. Allstate knew who was redundant but hid behind the assessment. Personally I’m disappointed to see poor performers in my area still have a job. I was really hoping the company would really want great performers. Nope everyone is a salary.

As much as this person is an a–hole, what he is saying is kind of true. Only thing to do is to move on at this point. Complaining won’t get you your job back and your character may have something to do with why you were fired. If you were laid off, keep an open mind and reflect on why you were chosen to get cut and then try to improve those weaknesses so you don’t get laid off in your next job.

The ones laid off are right where you will be by the end of the second wave.
If you are the type of person that Allstate chose to retain they should consider themselves very lucky.
May the stress of the new Allstate (stress inducing increased workload and nauseating more aggressive metrics) bring you the work satisfaction that you so clearly deserve.

Wow. You think these people do not understand their own circumstances? “Sloppy seconds” - disgusting and s-xist put down meant to make them feel worse about their situation. I’m sure people laid off just found a little relief in not having to work with such a garbage person. Not to be negative or anything, but you are a world class jerk.
