Sales are so bad now. Employees being sent home early, daily. People are not going to magically run to stores for Christmas presents. Many have lost their jobs.

Eliot management has deep pockets why would they dump them now? Has this hedge fund squeezed out all the value yet?
Are they primarily backed by a Russian oligarchy?

I think the Russians are trying to make sure we do not have access to books once the internet and electric grid shuts down. Eliminating BN greatly reduces the access to information that is not electronically fed.

They will announce going out of business in November/December to maximize liquidation sales and start the no return policy.

Sounds about right. They’ll try to recoup pandemic losses through the holidays, but it won save them.
