Tom may be the right guy, he definitely knows IoT and the strategy!
Tom L was hired by bozo the clown Murthy. This fact alone should say a lot about Tom L. All of Murphy’s hires are complete duds. But as intel insiders we know this guy after 4 years. He accomplished nothing. He actually proved that Intel can hire a person worse than Doug D to run IOTG. For many of us, this seemed impossible until we experienced Tom L.
Tom’s previous job was Vp of strategy at ARM. Basically a no job. He was a no entity, not well respected at ARM. Surprising. No, we have a history of bad executive hiring decisions. We have hired and promoted people beyond their talent, expertise level:. Amir F., Mike B, Murthy R., Aicha E, Damian, Raja...the list is long. And we continue, more to come
This is actually a pretty strong rumor.
Where is this rumor from? Is current CEO retiring?
If he is to be the next CEO, I think he was picked purely on the basis of his facial resemblance to Andy Grove.
Maybe Intel is thinking to pass him off as Andy Grove, who really didn't pass away, but just went AWOL for awhile, but seeing how his former company piss away technology process leadership came back to save the company like Steve Jobs.
