Employees love him, shareholders love him, and he doesn’t even have to show his face in a crisis! I tell my children to try to be half the man he is.

DW will end up being remembered like GM’s Roger Smith.
He made Exxon Great Again.
He fulfilled all his promises.
And he appointed new managers that will last a generation.
And he may not even leave when he’s sacked.
Please...he had his part in creating this mess.
@D/S - yeah we really should invest in refineries that will be shuttered as we go into over capacity as people shift away from gasoline. Great idea. Boomer.
Am a downstream/chemicals lifer - - our part of the business was consistently starved of capex/opex for the sake of the upstream. DW made the necessary investments to maintain competitive and profitable sites. Good strategy, just can't afford it now with crude at 40 and downstream/chemical margins underwater. Margins will recover, affordability will improve, and the investments are needed. This is not a business for the weak or timid.
Some people say.
When Lee R would meet with Charlie R on PBS on a Tuesday night.
the entire Cabinet / Congress / Federal Court would tune in.
Not to mention Wall Street and the Teamster team.
I don't think even a Rockefeller could ask more on the radio.
So it is Lee. No question the GOAT.
In the end DWW will end remember just the same as former GE CEO Jeffrey Immelt. Maybe Larry Culp can come and fix Exxon after he gets GE back to speed.
Zigging when everyone is zagging! Don’t you understand! Did you not listen! It’s only 34G debt.. we have the best balance sheet!
Fake PIP happened on his watch. XOM lost integrity. Worst CEO.
Nope. DWW will turnout to be worst XOM CEO of all time. Company has lost it's
Standard of ethics, spent way too much on downstream / chemical projects that wil return zilch and packed the balance sheet with debt! $34.32 and falling to who knows where!!!
@rla+177fu4em 3 years to clean up.. not enough time?
Rex pity party. All DWW ever said was “best portfolio since the merger”
T Rex in his infinite wisdom left him with a pile of s__t to go work for whom he later said was a mor_n. Can't blame him for what he inherited; blaming him for the arrogance he showed aftetwards
He is actually good. Just a tough situation. The previous CEOs were simply riding the high oil price extravaganza. Easy to run the tanker when oil is at $115.
