Were you all communicated to document your files as if you were preparing to transfer your pending? I was told this was a countrywide initiative

I was laid off but I document all of my files as if I could be gone at any moment. I want even a stranger to be able to pick up from where I left off. I don't see this as alarming but from what I've been told anyone that's safe...is safe for right now.
Every single file in the country had to have the file note you are referring to.
No exact mention of transfer but yes, we had to make sure all was updated and segmentation was correct.
That’s because of the second wave of layoffs after the merger...
Far from over..
The term used on most of the safe calls is “for now.”
