I know several long term employees that were done and tanked the assessment, well they took lots of time on the "puzzle" part, some already have jobs lined up, a few planned to retire at the end of this year and now they get a year of severance too!!!
Actually based on your age and years of service you are eligible for retiree health in this situation... it’s in the faq sheet.. at 30 years they pay half... 24 is probably less than half but they contribute toward it and it’s most likely cheaper than cobra
OP-you will be able to buy insurance thru COBRA at the Allstate rate. Use your severance to pay the monthly premium till Medicare kicks in. If your spouse is not Medicare eligible, you will need to pay their portion of health insurance. Benefits will explain to you.
Is a years worth of insurance coming with everyone's severance? If not, it unfortunately will not make up for that year.
25+ year employee. BTE 80%, multiple Dl awards, chairman and Golden Compass. I guess my personality is not suited for the new organization. I'm ok, but the fear in my kids eyes is overwhelming. This all being said, I wouldn't be where I'm in life if it wasn't for the Allstate family. Thank you Allstate of old.
30+ here...
Yep. 35 years with Allstate, a couple of years away from planned retirement. At least we have the severance pay!
That s—s!! I'm sorry.
I am so sorry, but at least the severance will be able to make up for that year.
