Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Closing in on four months until RS is gone and off the Board of Directors!!!

That will mean there will be two slots for management on the Board - Executive Chairman - an actual employee, and the CEO. No need then for a Lead Director which will open up a seat since M Rose will likely retire.

Any thoughts or rumors on who will be the new Executive Chairman? I do not think Elliot would agree to Stankey getting that role. Stankey may remain as CEO but not sure how he would like working for somebody new. Will Stankey make the cut?

Any thoughts on how much power Elliot has with the Board - they have a significant stake but T has a very large market cap?

Anybody heard anything regarding McElfresh? Is he slotted for the next CEO of the entire company? Does anybody think the Board will bring in new outside senior manager for E Chairman?

Rumors are that Bill Morrow may be the new Chairman. He ran Clearwire (which Sprint acquired) which T-Mo now has with their 2.5Mhz band for 5G and he also ran Australia's NBN. He's ex-PacBell and knew JTS at that time. Very good industry background.

Wow. Some of you folks have a really inflated positive opinion of Popin' Fresh. I have been in several meetings with him. He is not anywhere near as sharp as you seem to think. Not at all. He is a talking head. He knows about as much about what is actually transpiring around the company as a CNN news anchor knows about the news and commentary they deliver. Everything is scripted, someone else did the research and wrote the story. Pop's only role is to deliver the narrative with feigned sincerity. The guy is a complete phony and total poseur. But then again... That has been the last 20 years with our "leaders"; all hat; no cowboy.

There may not be a company for McFleshLight to become a CEO over, think about that.

It will be a momentous occasion that he'll be off the board at the end of the year, however, there are going to be HUGE numbers of employees that will have by or before 12/31/2020.

So marking RS's time of OUT, also marks a lot of good people forced to retire before they wanted, and things could have been much better for them to have worked a little longer.

McFresh can not become CEO of entire company YET. Give him another 5 years and that is possible then. By then we'll find out if Warner should be sold or if it is beneficial to keep it under AT&T. Either way, McFresh is too green at this point, while he is smooth and smarter in telecom than id–t Stankey and Randall who never understood the company he ran.

As for chairman, count on it not being Stankey. Stankey will be lucky if he can keep his position in two years. More than likely the board will hire a wall street type to be chairman, someone Elliott and other investors trust who will not allow more acquisitions and will make sure costs are kept in line with Elliott and other big investor expectations. Frankly, while Elliott is in it for themselves, their points about lack of focus for AT&T, stopping acquisitions, and wanting to get rid of Stankey are all correct. Where they diverge with what is right for company, is how they want to fire and outsource everyone so they can make more buck.

John Stankey being from California more than likely
Will want someone from his Home State
Two people that John would be most comfortable with choosing are Nancy Pelosi or Maxine Waters
As They are have the same mindset of control

The damage is done. RS ran the place into the ground, and Gorgeous Johnny Stinky will finish it off.
