Please wake up, EM leaders. The dream will never come true. 1 billion dollar dream will only remain as a dream because another few more years close shop already. If the top leaders cannot change the bad situation. How can you expect the small flies on the ground to perform magic? Probably cut the small flies on the ground can save you a million but not 1 billion. What a joke isn’t it? We doubt how long EM SG will last

EM will definitely put employees into PIP to save cost. No doubt about it.

SOP1 will decommission next year. So many employees have nowhere to go. Are we going to get PIP or retrenchment packages?

Why single out SAR2 when it is one of the profitable site than other BU?

SAR2 is making money, you sour duds.

Is SGCX really that bad? I’ve always heard it’s considered the top performer among the HC10.

Since EM bought over JAC 7 years ago, has it been making money? $2.5billion dollars would be enough to cover the amount asked of us and more

You are expecting too much from the "World Class Company" like my Leaders of Tomorrow always say, "Don't ask what the company can do for you, you need to ask what you can do for the company ". Hahas fast forward to now. Closing shop liao hahas..

Seeing how this company was ruined by the top leader is mind-blowing. If you are a ground staff better switch out before it close shop...

EM is such a world class cooperation but cannot be gentleman, only act like a big gangster to place the employees to PIP to avoid paying retrenchment packages.

Second line supervisor is a redundant role in EM and should be removed for cost saving. All first line supervisors should report to DH directly. One senior 2nd line supervisor draws about $16K or more a month which means can hire 5 or 6 technicians on the ground. They are only good in TCSS . What is use?

PIP should be given somewhere in March or April according to PIP guidelines. Those employees receive PIP at the of end of the year are old tricks from EM for reducing headcount and costing cutting only. You are the targeted ones because of PIP quota each year when EM Singapore is not making money.

There is nothing to be ashamed of when getting pip. We should combine our strengths and hire the best lawyer to take action against unethical layoffs. Let the world know how much this company sxxks!

Yes I agree with it. Shame on EM for doing this to our employees who have worked hard for the company for so many yrs. Let them leave with dignity. Everyone is watching how U treat the rank and files...many of us have families to feed at home. Such a big corporation. Don't have to stoop so low to save $$ for the pockets of the higher ups.

EM please retrench legally like Dyson and Samsung, not giving employees PIP to force employees out without paying retrenchment packages.

Discontinuation of Primary Care Services at SGCX clinic because of cost cutting. Why never cut Darren wood’s salary but cut our medical benefits.

A big MNC leadership is struggling financially but wants to promote the idea of extreme ownership? It seems absurd, similar to a father who isn't making enough money to support his family yet comes home to scold his children for not contributing financially.

Actually I hate company like kept telling us they not making money and etc… why wanna make us feel guilty? So they can cut our bonus as cost saving expenses??

Don’t l@n ji@o la what can a technician, engineer or any ground staff do? Cost saving or investment decisions were not made by the ground staff, it was made by those world class leaders who pioneer the extreme ownership!!!

You think Exxon open the plant here is for charity or with the intend to boost the singapore GDP?

Why the singapore site is not profitable and has not been profitable consistently after covid?? Is it because of the ground staff or is it because of the poor decisions making of acquisition??

This company will never turn profitable in the foreseeable future and will definitely close shop given the leaders of tomorrow still running around like headless chicken..

The issue we are facing is that we have too many second-line supervisors, advisors, and department heads. While they are skilled at communication and presenting themselves well, they are not delivering the expected work and results. Additionally, maintaining these positions is costly.

We foresee that SOP1 will be shutting down. SAR2 is planning to be sold as a package. Good luck guys!

You know what, only the plant is losing 700M$, HBF people are still business as normal and continue spending money like no man business, for example travel oversea for team building and meeting!

After China one start up , SOP1 will shut down sooner or later. EM is very eager to give PIP to employees to reduce headcount. The best is they make you stress and uncomfortable so that you resign yourself . EM doesn’t need to pay any package. Free lah! Big savings for the company. This is so called the world class disgusting company that unwilling to pay retrenchment packages to employees when EM is losing $700 million each year.

Senior positions like department heads and executives tend to be more insulated from layoffs. :)

Cost-cutting can happen for any company. As for Exxon, there are too few ground staff and too many "Management" staff. With or without them, it does not make any difference.

e.g. with or without them, the plant still startup and shutdown normally. we still go for turnaround, job pack technicians do, write procedure technicians do, check can do this and that or not engineer do. Planning or gathering info for applying waiver also technician do..

So why do we still need them? Applying for leave only??? The quality check on management that Exxon had is one of the worst I have ever seen.. when the ground staff works, so many pairs of eyes were there to see only.. Like staring at the job can finish faster like that...

Chevron is planning to lay off workers as part of its $3billion dollar cost reduction plan. Shell is planning a 20% cut in its workforce to focus on profitability.

Do you think ExxonMobil is safe?
