Thread regarding Allscripts layoffs

Financial rebound

Allscripts is on track to get back to financial stability, haters will be haters. I see so many failed attempts to create panic and forecasts on potential layoffs. While I agree the situation isn’t ideal, we are cautiously optimistic of the turn around. There is a reason they have kept PB this long, it’s going to be fine! Ex-employees, stop trolling please.

I have been with Allscripts for 16 years now. When I first joined, I thought this was it. This is an exciting industry and a company I can get behind with and eventually retire from. I was so hopeful. Since then, I have learned not to so much listen to what is said, but watch the actions taken by Allscripts. If you look at the layoffs year after year, you can’t help but to question Allscripts leadership. I want to believe in the company I joined originally, but history stands against it. We are now heading into the last quarter . Allscripts habitually has holiday layoffs. I want to be pleasantly surprised by Allscripts leadership, but I won’t be surprised if I am not. Employees don’t post these things just because. They make these posts for a reason. I don’t know what else to say except I am disappointed just like our clients.

You keep saying the same thing, every time there is a new round of layoffs. Your track record isn't exactly what one would call 'accurate'.

I wouldn't inhale through your nose, it seems that it has something brown on it

Somebody lickin somethin when starting this b—s— post?

Have you seen the 5-4-3-2-1 rating of clients? No 5s and 4s since 2018!

There are approximately 70 Sunrise clients and over a third have stated that they plan to leave and a dozen more being bought by health system live on Epic or Cerner. Guess what they would migrating to 😉?!

Once Allsh*t sells CarePort, which is on the block, and everyone knows that, game over!

@1tip+16wQWdPw - If you're going to copy/paste stuff out of HISTalk, at least be honest enough to put the WHOLE QUOTE out there instead of just cherry-picking the negative side of it.

Quote: "The bond rater of Wise Health System (TX) says that one reason the health system’s margin has slipped is the cost of replacing Cerner with Allscripts, which in addition to staffing expense, created $12 million worth of revenue cycle inefficiency. It notes, however, that Wise Health Surgical Hospital improved its revenue cycle performance in 2019 following the EHR implementation."

SOURCE: https://histalk2.com/2020/08/18/news-8-19-20/

ANY EHR rip-and-replace is going to incur costs and cause all sort of "inefficiencies" and it doesn't matter a single bit whether it's Allscripts or EPIC or Cerner. That is just the nature of the business we're in and how IT works. Not once in the entire history of Healthcare IT did a complete EHR replacement NOT cause problems that ultimately resulted in some negative effect on the bottom line. If you actually read the report presented by the bond rater, you'll see that initial indications post-EHR implementation are that revenue cycle operations are MORE efficient and cost-effective than they were before and that they expect the EHR (Allscripts) solution to help keep them solvent during the CoVID-19 "crisis".

So it's obvious that you've got a chip on your shoulder or some vested interest in making everything and anything about Allscripts some negative doom and gloom, but don't be dishonest and don't play the mainstream media game of lying by omission.

@1kjq+16wQWdPw is talking about Northwell Health. All of the other current rollouts of Sunrise have been VERY difficult and not going smoothly. Wise almost tried to terminate the contract with Allscripts because their physicians were starting to revolt and wanted to go back to athenahealth or whatever it is they were using before. In addition to Sunrise being difficult, the expansive catalogue of dbMotion, 2bprecise, Care Director, TW, etc, have not had significant sales in the last five years (at least). Even in the beginning of the year they said that this year would be difficult. I am fully expecting to not get my full salary back until PMRP time in March and even then it'll probably be without a bonus and may be a tiered approach. They are going to keep layoffs and selling solutions they don't see as valuable b/c they are not getting sales.

I have applied to over 40 positions, the job market is saturated with unemployed and people trying to jump a sinking ship applying for the same positions. It's brutal. I'm on the Sunrise team and every day i'm fearful for when the other shoes drop.

In response to the person who named the southern client, I wanted to point out that without the big NY client that has customized Sunrise to no end, the Sunrise BU of MS or PS would NOT be here today. Without that one constant contract, I highly doubt any of us working on Sunrise would be employed.

I am currently employed at Allscriptsand fairly new (1 year). Since I have been here there have been three layoffs in seven months that impacted my BU (Sunrise). There may have been others that I am unaware of but three in seven months is pretty extreme for a company that has been around as long as Allscripts has. Yes, I believe Allscripts is using COVID19 as an execuse for some of their actions but I am sure other companies are as well. Yes, I believe COVID19 has played a factor in as far as speeding up the need for layoffs and salary reductions but based on meetings held in February / March that was going to happen anyway. No cash flow for three years? Nothing to do with COVID19. Giving away free Services, Support, etc.. for years has nothing to do with COVID19. Product instability as nothing to due with COVID19. Still, I don't think Allscripts it close to going out of business. But I still have my notes from the Finance call that they have $5 million set aside for Q3 and Q4 for possible Severance Costs. Can't recall what they called it on the call but in reading between the lines that is what is for and if it ends up being me so be it. For now I will continue to work hard during the day but not burning the mdnight oil, not working late night, not working weekends - no incentive to do so but I will give them a full 40 hours a week. Right now I have a job not a career and if an opportunity presents itself I will like explore it. Cheers!

Please do not fool yourself. This company is dead and will shut its door in one or two years. Allscripts are in fire sell mode and desperately trying to stop the sinking ship. Sorry too little and too late now. I am sitting here for years for my package, and will never look back once I got it.

Here is some solid financial strength

The bond rater of Wise Health System (TX) says that one reason the
health system’s margin has slipped is the cost of replacing Cerner
with Allscripts, which in addition to staffing expense, created $12
million worth of revenue cycle inefficiency.

Allscripts rock...

Allshs management in the in the building. LOL. mandatory review actions I'm sure. You can stay on your knees.. no one cares or impressed. Yes there are layoffs...have been layoffs on regular basis since PB RP and the other namless clowns have arrived.

Financial rebound pleas explain. What everyone else sees is what is commonly known as "die back mode". Meaning the company will attrition to a size it can survive at. The problem you and the rest of the leadership have not realized is. No new clients... Evaporating revenue... Evacuating client base.. on the positive side apple started out in a garage and Allscripts will end in a shed... Your leadership rocks... Stock performance reflects it...

Posters who ARE employed have opinions worth considering. Those who haven't worked at AS for a year or more? Not so much.

Yes. The degree of unsubstantiated negativity on the majority of posts here have become tiresome... particularly from former employees who left years ago. Move on people.
