Anyone know if the severance is going to have non-compete type language? The Chevron page eludes to its in their current layoffs. Seems pretty ridiculous.

Nagunna, not gonna be too many companies to compete for.
After the Great Shale Scam of the 21st century, what will be next to deceive big pocketed investors?
My prediction is not much. You will work for ExxonMobilChevron, ShellBP, TotalEni, or more likely a state-owned oil company, if you are "lucky".
You might wanna have a look at the chevron page. They can attach stipulations to severance packages. Non-compete might not be the right phrase, but at least on their side it appears they’re attaching strings to packages.
There is no non compete when you get laid off.
Unless your pretty high up in the company and have some sort of "insider information" you don't need to worry. It is unreasonable for you to get laid off and have Chevron expect you don't find a new job to support yourself or your family. A court would not enforce that type of contract.
Besides that, if your that important, you won't be let go, they will keep you.
