Thread regarding Commscope Inc. layoffs

Commscope Greensboro NC facility to be closed

Commscope just announced the closing of the Greensboro NC facility, another 225 employees. If you work for Commscope in North America(except cable) in manufacturing, engineering, or R & D, you better start looking for a job now because your facility is next on their list. All NA facilities and some in Germany & Italy expected to close sooner than expected. This used to be a good company to work for, but since Eddie Edwards took over it's been in the toilet. Good luck getting all that fudge off, they are so far behind with R & D they have no chance to catch up with the competition. The NEW ERA products are the future not ARRIS & RUCKUS. They are all circling the drain.

Wow this is a surprise. As a past Commscope employee Greensboro was designated as a center of excellence in place of the Richardson location. Greensboro is a legacy TE facility acquired after Commscope purchased the BNS division from TE. I wonder where all the production performed in Greensboro will be transferred, maybe Claremont of one of the sites in Mexico. Since this is primarily copper connectivity products and the market for these products has been in decline maybe the demand for these products is not longer there.

Motorola should have ditched at least two Horsham buildings long ago. ARRIS and CommScope should have too. God forbid people there have to consolidate and lose window offices...devastating, I'm sure, especially for those who rarely went to the office before the virus. There are some great people in Horsham, but many should have been there way too long! Plenty of room for more layoffs.

We've been hearing rumors about Horsham since the company purchased us. Wake me up when there's some solid evidence of this. I agree that Edwards is running this ship into the ground but there's no reason for rumors.
