Thread regarding Follett layoffs

Rush with no employees

We have had 6 employees (1 salary manager, 3 FT and 2 PT) for the past week. It is IMPOSSIBLE to not have overtime when we only have 1 salary employee. Efollett orders DO NOT STOP! You finish 22 pages, 12 pages pop up. We are two days behind on efollett orders because it is impossible to do them with no employees and our manager is not working until midnight to catch up. I wonder how much trouble we are about to be in when the 5 of us have at last 8-10 hours of OT.

Is this what happened to poor COD? Heard it’s a mess.

SM here-during rush we are open 11 hrs a day M-F and 7 hrs on S. That is 62 open hours. Give or take an hour each day for opening and closing so now up to 68 hours.
I work no more than t0 hrs, ever.

Well, good for you to care so much. GET A LIFE!!! There is no pot of gold at the end of the rainbow for you to bust your a– and go the extra mile. STFU and do your job, let the folks in the ivory tower figure it out. I used to be like you 'till I realized (experienced) that no-gives a f*. Unless you screw up, then it's a write up. Recognition for errors not efforts is the Follett way.

Over 20 years as SM, no longer with the company. I went over on hours all the time. And I took my beating from the RM Customer service first, sales 2nd.
I hope the current batch of managers have the courage to give out the OT. Just do it, in the end, customers are happy and you're less stressed.

Do the math. If you find that salary divided by the hours you work puts you at $5.00/ hour (or less) - time to go! Is k–ling yourself for $5.00 per hour worth it so the family gets their divided?

The salaried employee is required to work 12-18 hours per day 7 days a week to ensure that offers are fulfilled each day. No excuses. Call HR to verify new policy.

Based on my experience, it depends on how much pressure your manager is willing to take. There will be a call or calls from your RM and threats of write ups if there is any OT. Some managers are willing to deal with that and some not.

The payroll beatings will continue until morale improves.

Don’t worry about OT, not your problem. Get customers orders done, that’s important.
